"Attack of the Vegan Zombies" is as strange as it sounds. It never ceases in delivering daft ideas and is surprisingly well made, despite the low budget. It's just a shame that the flick sabotages itself by trying too hard to be funny, when it was only funny when it was trying to be serious.

It’s embarrassing seeing a talented cast forced to spew out bad dialogue they probably didn't understand, participate in a stupid, hole ridden story and perform fight scenes using horrible special effects. “Bulletproof Monk” is just kind of awkward to watch…

The fight scenes looked more like rehearsals for the real fight scenes, not the finished product. Eventually, I realized my mistake. I was watching "Dynamite Warrior" under the understanding that it was a martial arts film. In reality, it's a fantasy, adventure, western, comedy that just happens to have (Muay Thai) martial arts. Once I got used to its 'focus', I began to enjoy "Dynamite Warrior", as silly as it could be.

I just can't bring myself to call "The Prodigal Son" great, even if it has greatness within it. The story is too disjointed, the comedy is a mixed bag and the kung fu...well, the kung fu is awesome. It's directed by Sammo Hung and stars Yuen Biao. IT BETTER BE FREAKING AWESOME. But it is and that's what we ask for, so "The Prodigal Son" is a success.
  5. “Dead Sushi (2012)” movie review.

If Orson Welles was alive today and he saw "Dead Sushi", he would hang his head in shame. For all of his accomplishments in story-telling and technical innovations, he never understood the importance of 'fire-breathing, killer mutant zombie sushi' in a dramatic narrative. But to be fair, "Dead Sushi" is the greatest movie of all time, so maybe I shouldn't expect as much from lesser directors.
