"The Scorpion King 4" is just a bad movie that tries to hide its badness with wacky hijinks, which only makes it worse.

"Unfriended" is pretty f@cking stupid, but not as f@cking stupid as the trailers suggested it would be. The gimmick might cause eye rolling, but it is utilized reasonably well and I never grew impatient or disinterested. Yet how can anyone find this scary? The trailers spoil the majority of the kills, the characters are too unpleasant for you to fear for them and the tone rapidly alternates between disturbing and goofy.

"Puppet Master X: Axis Rising" is outrageous, absurd, corny and we are "supposed" to be laughing at it.

"Puppet Master: Axis of Evil" feels like the filmmakers (Band and DeCoteau) are giving a sincere apology to the fans in the form of a superior movie, while preparing a proper burial for the series as a whole...sort of. It's still pretty bad, but it's only bad in a typical 'direct-to-DVD' flick kind of way. The important thing is they tried.

"Puppet Master Vs Demonic Toys" rolls around in its own excrement, much like the last few sequels. The only difference is that it seems to enjoy its place amongst the feces.

I love "It Follows" for its individuality, as it has a unique story, visual style and even the character writing and scare tactics were somewhat unconventional. But above everything, I thought it was pretty damn scary!

"Demonic Toys" turned out to be surprisingly entertaining, offering all of the over-the-top gore, cheese and weirdness that I wanted out of the more popular "Puppet Master". However, I can already feel it dissipating from my memory and I noticed that the titular demonic toys became increasingly irrelevant as the narrative progresses.

"Retro Puppet Master" sucks, but I guess I have to concede that it's a step up from its predecessor.

"Curse of the Puppet Master" makes the previous shitty entries look good in comparison.
