1. “Dredd (2012)” movie review.

In general, "Dredd" is a matter of taste. If the idea of a killing machine (and his rookie partner) plowing through criminals using guns, explosives, fists, psychic powers (!!) and other bizarre weapons sounds intriguing to you, "Dredd" is your movie. Guess what? Just typing that gave me an erection, so this is obviously my kind of joint.

But I thought the movie itself was fantastic. It's beautifully directed, surprisingly well written and the bulk of the running time is dedicated to showing off the superb kung fu of the Shaolin Monks. It remains one of Jet Li's finest films.

“Dead Birds” is a sloppy mess that thinks it's scary, but the sense of unease dissipates before the first half of the movie is even completed. It also wastes its concept, which perhaps is the most damning complaint coming from a fan of Military-Horror features. Grrrr.
  4. “The Beast Must Die (1974)” movie review.

The tragic thing about “The Beast Must Die” is if it had more money at its disposal, it could've been a very good movie. The concept alone gives me tingles! It's pretty much “10 Little Indians” (or “And Then There Were Done”), but with a freaking werewolf.
  5. “R-Point (2004)” movie review.

I've said it once and I'll probably say it at least four more times, but I want to see more horror movies take place during wartime. Perhaps I should feel guilty for these feelings, as war is horrific enough without ghosts troubling the poor soldiers. Or maybe I should just feel stupid because War movies tend to be epic, big budgeted affairs while the horror genre is on the opposite side of the spectrum. But I love them and "R-Point" stood out even more because it was set during the Vietnam conflict.
  6. “Death Bed: The Bed That Eats (1977)” movie review.

What's so bizarre about “Death Bed”- besides the fact that it's about a killer bed- is it seems to think it's "art". One gets the impression that the director probably had aspirations to become the next Fellini, but the only work he could find was some grindhouse fodder about an evil bed.

Whether they're taking hits, being knocked off of structures, vehicles, or being in a vehicle that's driving through a structure, everything they do in this movie is amazing and all of them deserve credit for keeping "Born to Fight" enjoyable. You guys not only stole the show, you probably made it in the first place and I take off my hat in respect to your greatness. *kisses*
