    "Scream (1981)" boldly defied the slasher conventions and sometimes it really works in the films favor- delivering a creepy, thoroughly atmospheric experience. But usually...it's just kind of boring.

    “Terror Train (1980)” movie review.

    "Terror Train" might be another slasher of the early 80's, but it's not JUST another slasher of the early 80's. It has some good twists, a strong cast and favors suspense over gore. It's not likely going to end up on anyone's top 10 favorite slashers list thanks to some migraine inducing flaws, but I liked it.

    “Wilderness (2006)” movie review.

    "Wilderness" is actually a slasher/ survival thriller hybrid with plenty of action. It offers nothing I haven't seen before, except maybe its adoration of asshole characters, but it's packaged nicely in a briskly paced, gory, thrill ride. That is enough to satisfy my questionable tastes.

    “The Prowler” is at its core, just another slasher flick from the 80’s. Fans of the genre will embrace the awesome gore effects, while detractors will condemn the nonsensical plot. If anything stands out, it’s that this example is more violent AND more nonsensical than the average slasher.

    “Saw 3” works better as a continuation or even a conclusion to “Saw” and “Saw 2” than as its own entity, even though its predecessors succeeded as individual movies. But for all its flaws, “Saw 3” attempts to satisfy its target audience on more levels than just bloodshed- even though there is plenty of that as well.

    “Halloween: Resurrection (2002)” movie review.

    "Halloween: Resurrection" would be an acceptable slasher if it wasn't called 'Halloween', but it is...So it's not acceptable. The movie ends after the first 15 minutes and the remaining hour is just filler. Of all the entries within this 'flawed' franchise, I wish this one didn't exist the most. It's not the worst, but it pretty much killed the franchise.
