"Fright Night 2: New Blood” isn’t especially memorable or…good…But it is much better than I was expecting. At times, I even felt it came closer to capturing the atmosphere of the original than the more big budgeted remake did.
Much to my surprise, I found myself enjoying “Vampires: The Turning”. It provided all the ‘Kickboxing Vs Vampires’ mayhem I could ask for, even giving me some good martial arts choreography and spooky atmosphere in the process.
“Stake Land” isn’t a masterpiece. It doesn’t fully explore its ideas, but at least it HAS big ideas. This, Hollywood, is a fine example of C.R.E.A.T.I.V.I.T.Y being found in a film that’s made for the masses. Take notes!
