The main problem with “Mama” though is that in terms of story, it’s the same old shit that we’ve seen in every other paranormal flick out there. The only parts which leave an impression- the weird attempts at humor and the sudden transition from horror to fantasy- only stand out because they don't work.

My ass invaded the nearest seat in the closest (IMAX) theater and I watched in anticipation...as yet another Summer Blockbuster of 2013 disappointed me..."Pacific Rim" is still pretty good, but it just lacked the punch- which would've presumably been provided by a giant robot- that I desired.
  3. “Julia’s Eyes (2010)” movie review.

This is a difficult feature to review, because part of me wants to praise its ambitions. "Julia's Eyes" wants to be 'more' than just a thriller and indeed, it is a much fuller experience than most of its ilk. It can be tear jerking and heart warming, along with being edgy and frightening. Yet it also sort of collapses under its own weight.
