1. “Howling VII: New Moon Rising (1995)” movie review.

Bad will always be bad, but "Howling: New Moon Rising" is a special kind of evil- one that represents everything I deplore about cheap sequels, from stock footage abuse to padding to terrible everything, causing the traumatic experiences of the Puppet Master franchise to resurface.

"Dragonball Z: Wrath of the Dragon" is... different, and not in the way that "Fusion Reborn" was different- where it felt like the filmmakers were subtly adapting a 'Goku x Vegeta' slash fanfiction while tripping out on drugs. This one just has different priorities, toning down fighting for the sake of fleshing out and developing its primary character.

Yet...while the road to enjoying "Fusion Reborn" had a bumpy start, I ended up having a blast with this serial film. It's so...it's so freaking weird! And gay! And weird! But I began to love its gay weirdness. This might even be my personal favorite DBZ flick, even if it's not the best.

I have to admit that part of me wants to be somewhat forgiving towards "Kickboxer 5" for at least being an awful action movie, instead of an awful character drama (like "Kickboxer 2"). But here's the thing. While "Kickboxer 2" may have failed in the areas that mattered, at least it wasn't a disaster in every aspect of film-making. "Kickboxer 5" fails on ALL levels. It says something when the highlight of your film is Mark Dacascos calling the villain a 'butt face'.
  5. “Rumble in the Bronx (1995)” movie review.

On one hand, it has plenty of great action sequences. Yet it's hard for a westerner to watch this and not laugh awkwardly at it. It's respectable that Stanley Tong and Jackie Chan wanted to broaden their ambitions by making a much more international film. Yet I have to presume that the filmmakers watched “The Warriors” and thought that was how New York really is. Okay, it's not THAT over-the-top. But its cartoonish interpretation of the Bronx is pretty hilarious.
  6. Clueless, a somewhat guilty pleasure

Oh Alicia the things I would do to you... I could quite happily end there & fill the page with images of her, but then I'd miss the chance to fanwank over the glory that is this film. It reeks of 90's in every way, and we all know the 90's were awesome... Well unless you were a kid, in which case you really missed out. It's funny to think that after all these years I still have the same dress sense; then again I still have the same taste in games, right down to preferring the consoles over my modern ones.
