1. “Tai Chi Hero (2012)” movie review.

"Tai Chi Hero" is significantly less hyperactive when it comes to its visual style, toning down much of the flash and glamor of its predecessor (Tai Chi Zero). But it seems to have become even more scatterbrained when it comes to telling the story. Yet even if it was only in pieces, the movie could be very moving and I made a connection to the characters.

It’s embarrassing seeing a talented cast forced to spew out bad dialogue they probably didn't understand, participate in a stupid, hole ridden story and perform fight scenes using horrible special effects. “Bulletproof Monk” is just kind of awkward to watch…
  3. “Dororo (2007)” movie review.

“Dororo” is one of those 'almost good' movies. It does a lot right, yet its positive attributes are dragged down by the flaws. But I did get to see Japanese warriors fight some bizarre looking monsters, which was exactly what I wanted out of it.
  4. “The Heroic Trio (1993)” movie review.

With the exception of its cast, I shouldn't like anything about “The Heroic Trio”. I'm not a fan of mawkish melodrama, padding, bad special effects, wacky comedy, wire work or bi-polar tones. But somehow, despite having ALL of that, “The Heroic Trio” is a lot of fun.
  5. “Legendary Assassin (2008)” movie review.

When a fight scene happens, it's less about the choreography and more about how sexy he (Jacky Wu) is when he throws a punch. It's totally an ego trip, albeit a harmless one. The truth is, Jacky Wu is really cool in this movie. It's just too bad the film nearly fails at everything else.
