1. “Life Gamble (1979)” movie review.

“Life Gamble” holds a special place in my heart because even though it provides a handful of cool fight scenes, I was more interested in everything else. It has an intriguing story, filled with suspense, intrigue and daring unpredictability. It boasted stunning production values when compared to its contemporaries, with sharper cinematography and experimental filming techniques.
  2. “Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear (2013)” movie review.

"Ninja II: Shadow of a Tear", might have a snicker inducing, pretentious title and it might not have the meatiest of plots, but it's wonderfully paced and the action scenes are PHENOMENAL. It improves on the strengths of "Ninja", while making a point to correct its weaknesses.
  3. “Shinobi no Mono 4: Siege (1964)” movie review.

It's still not as good as the first "Shinobi no Mono", but "Shinobi no Mono 4: Siege" is a step up from the previous sequels because it's actually entertaining. You'll be confused if you aren't familiar with the war between Tokugawa and Yukimura, but I did enjoy myself and that is what matters.
  4. “Man of Tai Chi (2013)” movie review.

“Man of Tai Chi” is not a great film, as the story is pretty convoluted, but it is a great martial arts flick. Besides boasting some AWESOME fight scenes, it also finds interesting ways to work around the stale clichés which usually plague this kind of story.
  5. “I, Frankenstein (2014)” movie review.

"I, Frankenstein" is guilty of the usual critical follies, whether it be stupid dialogue, weak acting, a flimsy plot, awkward pacing or unreliable special effects. But its greatest sin is that even though it contains a non-stop onslaught of action and visual effects, it's just not very fun.
  6. “General Stone (1977)” movie review.

When it comes to determining what makes a great film, I have two standards of quality. The movie must contain either fire breathing, mutant, killer zombie sushi OR statues impregnating women the old fashioned way. Since “General Stone” contains the latter, that automatically makes it one of the finest kung fu films of all time.
  7. “Ip Man: The Final Fight (2013)” movie review.

Unfortunately, while "Ip Man: The Final Fight" does give us a more human incarnation of the titular character, he's lost underneath a sea of supporting characters and subplots. The movie does boast some of the coolest production values and fight scenes that the trend has ever delivered, but its scatterbrained narrative is so frustrating!
  8. “Bulletproof Monk (2003)” movie review.

It’s embarrassing seeing a talented cast forced to spew out bad dialogue they probably didn't understand, participate in a stupid, hole ridden story and perform fight scenes using horrible special effects. “Bulletproof Monk” is just kind of awkward to watch…
