"Hausu" is a fascinating experience because it's one psychedelic visual following another, some shots being alluring while others are haunting. It's corny, campy and kind of creepy, but you have to accept its avant-garde approach in order to appreciate it.

Make no mistake, "The Big Boss" is NOT a good movie. But the badness, mixed with the weirdness, creates an eccentric atmosphere that I personally found appealing. Yet more importantly, it's weaknesses contributed to Bruce Lee's strengths, enhancing his effectiveness.

It is very cheesy, but I adored that. The goofiness mixes in with the terror pretty well, creating a morbid, camp classic that also happens to be spooky. It's rare when a movie can make you shiver and laugh at once.
