It's stylish, unique and pushes the boundaries of conventional storytelling. It is truly an avant-garde action film. Or it's a self indulgent, overbearing, convoluted mess that needed to stop sniffing it's own ass because the fumes were clearly effecting it's better judgment. I guess that depends on you.

“Hellraiser: Hellworld” is awful. Not awful in an amusing way like “Hellraiser 3”, nor was it a (somewhat respectable) misfire like “Hellraiser 6”. It is just bad. Every idea it produces backfires, either being an awful concept to begin with or it's executed so poorly that they might as well have been lame ideas to begin with. I guess I have to respect that they tried to make it different than the previous films, but by different I mean they decided to make it like every other horror franchise that ever existed. It's like the filmmakers took a good look at the franchise and determined that the Hellraiser films had become too conventionally unconventional, so the only way to remain unconventional was by becoming conventional itself.....
  3. MOVIE REVIEW: “Scott Pilgrim Vs the World (2010)”

When “Scott Pilgrim Vs the World” bombed upon its opening week,, fans were flabbergasted. “How? Why? What the hell!” they cried like little fanboys. Everybody liked this movie! Even the Critics did! Yet really, is it a surprise that this made no money? It was a hybrid film, having action, comedy, romance and that usually isn't the box office gold that we'd expect it to be. It was released at the same time as “The Expendables” - which stole the action crowd- and “Eat Suck Love” (or whatever that crap was called)- which stole the romance crowd. Even the comedy crowd went ahead a watched "The Other Guys" again. Yet the reason I avoided it was completely different all together. -Signed by MartialHorror.
