"Tremors 5" is actually a decent sequel, which might sound like an impossible sentence to form after you discover that Jamie Kennedy and the guy who directed "Lake Placid: The Final Chapter", "Who's Your Caddy?", "Kindergarten Cop 2", "Sniper: Legacy", "Sniper: Ghost Shooter", "Jarhead 2: They'll Make A Sequel Out Of Anything" are both involved, yet it is.
  2. “Tai Chi Hero (2012)” movie review.

"Tai Chi Hero" is significantly less hyperactive when it comes to its visual style, toning down much of the flash and glamor of its predecessor (Tai Chi Zero). But it seems to have become even more scatterbrained when it comes to telling the story. Yet even if it was only in pieces, the movie could be very moving and I made a connection to the characters.
  3. “Saw III (2006)” movie review.

“Saw 3” works better as a continuation or even a conclusion to “Saw” and “Saw 2” than as its own entity, even though its predecessors succeeded as individual movies. But for all its flaws, “Saw 3” attempts to satisfy its target audience on more levels than just bloodshed- even though there is plenty of that as well.
  4. “I Spit on Your Grave 2 (2013)” movie review.

“I Spit on Your Grave 2” might take place in a different country and might have made a few changes to the formula, but once again, it’s just a lot of raping and a lot of torturing. Eventually you’re doomed to become desensitized to the brutality and when that happens, the movie just becomes sort of boring…and I got used to it during the first 30 minutes…
  5. “Open Water 2: Adrift (2006)” movie review.

“Open Water 2: Adrift” apparently was written as an original story, but someone decided to turn it into a sequel to the polarizing “Open Water” in order to cash in on its success. I'd say this usually spells failure but it seems like I've been having a fair amount of luck with converted sequels as of late. “Open Water 2” is a flawed movie, but I honestly thought it was startlingly effective. It reminded me that both of these films relied almost exclusively on their emotional impact upon the viewer, so you can't just judge either of them as good or bad. I thought “Open Water 2” was a far more rewarding experience than the first film and it doesn't even have sharks!
