1. “The Howling: Reborn (2011)” movie review.

"The Howling Reborn"- which attempted to cash-in on the "Twilight" craze- tries to be for everyone and yet it ultimately ends up being for no one, except maybe those cinematic masochists who wish to endure the entirety of the Howling franchise...like me...and you know what? I'm not even sure if this is for us because "The Howling Reborn" isn't even bad enough to satisfy my self destructive cravings.

"Scream (1981)" boldly defied the slasher conventions and sometimes it really works in the films favor- delivering a creepy, thoroughly atmospheric experience. But usually...it's just kind of boring.
  3. “Lake Placid (1999)” movie review.

Studios would cram obnoxious attempts at humor down our throats, would flaunt gratuitous and poorly rendered CGI and play it incredibly safe so that they would not offend its viewers by killing off a likable character. These films were often bad, but they’d poke fun at their own badness, which confused people into thinking ‘bad’ was suddenly ‘good’. It was a dark time for horror. It was…the 90’s *cue dramatic music*. Enter “Lake Placid”, a killer Crocodile flick that would represent everything I loathe about the dreaded decade.
  4. “The Cabin In the Woods (2012)” movie review.

"The Cabin in the Woods" seemed like a doomed project, considering it was made in 2009, looked like it belonged in the 1990's and wasn't released until 2012. The trailers felt spoilery and overly clever. Joss Whedon might be a hero of television, but his work on the big screen never impressed me that much. Yet the positive reviews managed to win my interest over and I left the theater feeling completely satisfied. Ambitious, creative, funny, intense, clever...it's the type of genre piece that anyone will like. But it's also the type of genre piece that horror fans such as myself will love.
  5. “Gone (2012)” review

Stupid, stupid MartialHorror. I'm not sure what deserves to be spat upon more. "Gone", for being about as generic as the title suggests, or myself for knowing that it would be as generic as the title suggested, yet went to see it anyway. "Gone" is one of those movies that if you watch the trailer, you could probably figure out everything that's going to happen and not often be wrong. When there is a movie like this and the execution of bland material is rather mediocre itself, why should one even bother with it?
