"Attack of the Vegan Zombies" is as strange as it sounds. It never ceases in delivering daft ideas and is surprisingly well made, despite the low budget. It's just a shame that the flick sabotages itself by trying too hard to be funny, when it was only funny when it was trying to be serious.

“47 Ronin (2013)” movie review.

"47 Ronin" sounds like it would be quite the lark, either as something ludicrously epic or ridiculously stupid, but entertaining all the same. Yet I can't say I ever really enjoyed myself during my viewing. The film isn't especially terrible, it's just kind of subpar and dull. At times, I WISHED it would become atrocious simply so I could feel SOMETHING as I endured it. But a las, I was overcome by its blandness.

What exactly did I want out of this movie? I wanted gore. I wanted sex. I wanted amusing dialogue. I wanted deliciously awful actors and awkward special effects. I wanted to laugh at the movie, while also appreciating it for what it is: A good time. Instead, what did I get? A soap opera. A FUCKING SOAP OPERA!
