"The Howling Reborn"- which attempted to cash-in on the "Twilight" craze- tries to be for everyone and yet it ultimately ends up being for no one, except maybe those cinematic masochists who wish to endure the entirety of the Howling franchise...like me...and you know what? I'm not even sure if this is for us because "The Howling Reborn" isn't even bad enough to satisfy my self destructive cravings.
The problem with “Kiss of the Damned” is it aims to please the arthouse crowd, but it’s not good enough to really be considered a high brow film. Still, as far as erotic vampire films go, it was pretty erotic…You'll either like or loathe it. I'm still not sure what I feel myself.
“The Sorcerer and the White Snake” is safe, fluffy, conventional and thoroughly forgettable. Although granted, the script practically drowns under the copious amount of (bad) CGI, so the brain-dead script is the least of this films problems.
“Jade Warrior” is one of those features that showcases a lot of talent. The screen-writer, director, cinematographer and actors all impressed me greatly. But as a whole, it just failed to come together.
"Fire Down Below" was a return to epic fail for Seagal, grossing only $16,000,000 of its $60,000,000 budget. But is "Fire Down Below" a bad action film? Not at all. It's a mediocre chick flick. Wait, WHAT?!
When a fight scene happens, it's less about the choreography and more about how sexy he (Jacky Wu) is when he throws a punch. It's totally an ego trip, albeit a harmless one. The truth is, Jacky Wu is really cool in this movie. It's just too bad the film nearly fails at everything else.
