1. “A Force of One (1979)” movie review.

"A Force of One" has a pretty cool, if a bit absurd, concept going for it. Who doesn't like the idea of Chuck Norris training police officers to fend off a cop killing serial killer, while he prepares for a climactic fight with Bill 'Superfoot' Wallace?
  2. “Falcon Rising (2014)” movie review.

"Falcon Rising" is...acceptable. It has a strong cast, a beautiful Brazilian location, good fight scenes and even a dash of inspiration within the writing. But it also lacks focus, cramming in too many characters and ideas, while the plot appears to be building up to something amazing- only to never really get there.
  3. “Ninja 2: Shadow of a Tear (2013)” movie review.

"Ninja II: Shadow of a Tear", might have a snicker inducing, pretentious title and it might not have the meatiest of plots, but it's wonderfully paced and the action scenes are PHENOMENAL. It improves on the strengths of "Ninja", while making a point to correct its weaknesses.
  4. “Dead Sushi (2012)” movie review.

If Orson Welles was alive today and he saw "Dead Sushi", he would hang his head in shame. For all of his accomplishments in story-telling and technical innovations, he never understood the importance of 'fire-breathing, killer mutant zombie sushi' in a dramatic narrative. But to be fair, "Dead Sushi" is the greatest movie of all time, so maybe I shouldn't expect as much from lesser directors.
  5. “Redemption: Kickboxer 5 (1995)” movie review.

I have to admit that part of me wants to be somewhat forgiving towards "Kickboxer 5" for at least being an awful action movie, instead of an awful character drama (like "Kickboxer 2"). But here's the thing. While "Kickboxer 2" may have failed in the areas that mattered, at least it wasn't a disaster in every aspect of film-making. "Kickboxer 5" fails on ALL levels. It says something when the highlight of your film is Mark Dacascos calling the villain a 'butt face'.
  6. “Karate Girl (2011)” movie review.

But if "High Kick Girl" only existed to show how awesome Rina Takeda is, "Karate Girl" actually tried to expand its horizons and be a legitimate movie. Does it succeed? Spoiler alert, no. But I kind of liked the film anyway.
  7. “Game of Death (2010)” movie review.

"Game of Death" is a 2010 direct-to-DVD actioner that stars Wesley Snipes and no, it has nothing to do with the Bruce Lee film of the same name. Some of you might be wondering why Snipes is in a direct-to-DVD movie and I would be happy to explain. Not only was "Blade 3" met with indifference by its audience, Wesley Snipes was so disgusted by the experience that he actually CHOSE to make direct-to-DVD films. He reasoned that he would have more creative control over his projects. This is sort of baffling because his movies since then have been consistently mediocre. Maybe Wesley should've fought a little harder on the big screen because "Game of Death" is what we expect when we think of direct-to-DVD actioner: Sucky.
