"The Wandering Swordsman" is a good movie that might even be great, reminding me that before choreography became the focus of the genre, Hong Kong productions could be as sophisticated as anyone else. The writing, direction, cinematography, acting, editing and productions values are pretty impressive, although the choreography is pretty unimpressive in retrospect.

“Zatoichi Meets the One Armed Swordsman” does have its share of flaws, but it’s a stellar Chambara flick which stands out among the crowd, even if it’s not technically one of the better entries. Plus, it has our beloved blind swordsman Ichi fighting the legendary one-armed swordsman from..."The One-Armed Swordsman" and Jimmy Wang Yu is reprising his (most famous) role! That's just freaking awesome.
