"Devil's Pass" isn't a terrible rip-off of "The Blair Witch Project", but it made me realize that the Dyatlov Pass Incident was only scary because we don't know what really happened. If you fill in the holes, whether it's a natural or paranormal explanation, you destroy what makes it so frightening.
"I, Frankenstein" is guilty of the usual critical follies, whether it be stupid dialogue, weak acting, a flimsy plot, awkward pacing or unreliable special effects. But its greatest sin is that even though it contains a non-stop onslaught of action and visual effects, it's just not very fun.
It has been two weeks into 2014 and "The Legend of Hercules" has already secured a spot on my 'Worst Films of 2014' list. It's atrocious, but the good news is that Scott Adkins stole the show. Maybe this could lead to Hollywood giving him a push?
