"Dragonball Z: Super Android 13!" is the only serial film that doesn't just ignore the established continuity...It urinates acid onto it, creating holes that will mind rape us fans. That sounds pretty bad, right? Oddly, no. This film is just unpretentious fun, showcasing nothing but Goku, Trunks and Vegeta participating in thoroughly enjoyable battles.

"The Return of Cooler" actually does boast a truly awesome premise, but instead of fleshing out what could've been an engaging story, it rushes to the fight scenes. The action itself is acceptable, but the movie constantly beat me over the head with its wasted ideas, souring the experience.

Yet "Cooler's Revenge" works better upon second viewing because it isn't accompanied by the deadweight hype. On its own merits, it's briskly paced and excelled in the action department, so I was thoroughly entertained.
