"The Howling Reborn"- which attempted to cash-in on the "Twilight" craze- tries to be for everyone and yet it ultimately ends up being for no one, except maybe those cinematic masochists who wish to endure the entirety of the Howling franchise...like me...and you know what? I'm not even sure if this is for us because "The Howling Reborn" isn't even bad enough to satisfy my self destructive cravings.
  2. “23:59 (2011)” movie review.

"23:59" has a strong first act, shrouding itself in mystery, a chillingly foreboding atmosphere and creepy scares. Unfortunately, its initial success only makes the rest of the movie suck that much harder. Even though I adore military themed horror flicks, this ghost-thriller is a casualty of war.
  3. “In the Name of the King II: Two Worlds (2011)” movie review.

“In the Name of the King 2” is bad, but much like its predecessor, it’s just generically bad. It’s what I expect out of a direct-to-DVD, low budgeted sequel to a movie that wasn’t even good to begin with- regardless of Uwe Boll’s involvement. If anything, Dolph Lundgren’s surreal performance was sometimes entertaining…But the key word is 'sometimes'. Usually I was just kind of bored.
  4. “You’re Next (2013)” movie review.

During my viewing, my opinions were constantly at war with each-other. Was I watching a bad movie that happened to have flashes of brilliance? Or a good movie which was making some severe missteps? After it was over, I pondered as to what I had just watched. Then I pondered some more. After hours of tearing my imaginary hair out in frustrated contemplation, I came to my conclusion. "You're Next" just wasn't worth stressing out over. It's not a very good movie, in spite of what the critics AND itself seems to think.
  5. “War of the Arrows (2011)” movie review.

“War of the Arrows” can be argued as a South Korean interpretation of “Apocalypto”, although it lacks the artistic touches and expands upon the set-up. I don’t believe it will be remembered as a highlight of Korean film-making, but it is thoroughly enjoyable.
  6. “Kunoichi: Ninja Girl (2011)” movie review.

It’s amusing how I began my journey with “Ninja Girl” expecting to judge it as a Rina Takeda ("High-Kick Girl") movie, but instead began to view it as a Seiji Chiba ("Alien Vs Ninja") flick, which just happened to star Rina Takeda. Maybe that’s for the better because as a Rina Takeda feature, I was disappointed. But as a Seiji Chiba feature...
