"The Howling" is a good movie, one of the few examples of horror that I would recommend to even those who don't lurk within the fandom of the genre. Yet I have always felt that it is a bit overrated, believing that its more passionate followers have convinced themselves that the handful of exceptional moments embody the entire film.

I still think "The Witch" is a good movie though, with nuanced characters and creepy atmosphere. At the absolute least, it's a bold experiment that stands out for trying something completely different. But it was upstaged by its own hype and didn't quite meet my expectations.
  3. “Warriors Two (1978)” movie review.

"Warriors Two" (directed and co-starring Sammo Hung) is a great- if flawed- kung fu flick, but it's only great as a kung fu flick. If you're aren't into the genre, you probably will spend more time hating on the script.

When I heard that Jackie Chan and John Cusack were co-starring in a movie together, my immediate response was "Huh?". When I subsequently discovered that their odd collaboration would be in a Roman Legion epic, my immediate response was "HUH!?!".
  5. “The Objective (2008)” movie review.

"The Objective"- from one of the guys who directed "The Blair Witch Project"- kept my attention for awhile, but I quickly realized that the story wasn't going anywhere and the suspense was being wasted, although I did laugh at some of the special effects.
  6. “Re-cycle (2006)” movie review.

"Re-cycle" is the Pang Brothers' ("The Eye", "Bangkok Dangerous") Magnum Opus, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses so definitively that I almost feel like by reviewing this, I'm reviewing everything else they've done.
